Mr. Garguilo is responsible for a portion of Brown & Brown's operations in Texas, leads in the company's acquisition activities in the state, and manages the company's Houston office. He was actively involved in several of Brown & Brown's acquisitions in Texas since 2002. He is currently an Executive Vice President of Brown & Brown, Inc. and serves as President & Chief Operating Officer of Brown & Brown of Texas, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

Prior to joining Brown & Brown, Inc. in January 2002 and assuming leadership of BBTX in July of 2002, Mr. Garguilo was most recently Vice President with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies where he was Worldwide Manager of their Commercial Programs Division. Having spent a good portion of his 18 year insurance career in Texas, Mr. Garguilo led The Hartford Insurance Group's commercial operations in the state as Regional Vice President and Branch Manager from 1996 - 2000.  Because of his past work experience and current responsibilities, Mr. Garguilo maintains close relationships with the underwriting leadership of most insurance companies doing business in Texas and the United States. This level of communication and access to key decision makers at leading insurance companies offers Brown & Brown's clients a significant advantage.

Mr. Garguilo is actively looking to expand Brown & Brown's presence in the state of Texas; both by aggressively adding new clients and through the acquisition of independent insurance agencies, especially those agencies focused upon serving Personal Lines, Small Commercial Lines, Middle Market Commercial Lines and Group Employee Benefits clients.  A 1989 graduate of Stetson University with a degree in Business Administration & Finance, he is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), licensed Property / Casualty, Group Employee Benefits, and Life & Health broker in all 50 states and also holds Managing General Agency and Surplus Lines licenses in Texas and a number of other states.
