Mr. Chapman joined Brown & Brown as Senior Vice President and Manager of our Bond Department following Brown & Brown's acquisition of both his retail and wholesale surety bond agencies, where he was President and Partner, in 2004. Having begun his insurance industry career as a Loss Control Representative with U.S. Fire Insurance Company in 1981, Mr. Chapman subsequently joined Citizens National Insurance Company where he was a Vice President and later, Brisco Insurance Agency, Inc., where he was also Vice President.

He has extensive experience serving environmental, general and artisan contractors and construction firms with their surety bond and insurance program needs. Mr. Chapman is a recognized national expert in the marketing and placement of environmental insurance and surety bond programs. Due to his reputation and client base, several surety bond & insurance companies have developed and offered special programs to Brown & Brown, exclusively administered by Mr. Chapman and available only to certain Brown & Brown clients represented by him. His Property / Casualty insurance background includes having served as a loss control and safety engineering consultant to many large accounts with complex and sophisticated insurance programs including Trammel Crow Development, El Paso Energy, and Tonka Toys.

Mr. Chapman is a graduate of Central Missouri State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Safety in 1981. He has been a licensed Property / Casualty and Surety Bond broker since 1986.
