Participants in the infertility treatment process may find their health insurance excludes (or does not fully cover) infertility treatment or complications resulting from such procedures. It is quite common that one participant in the process (egg recipient) assumes all the financial risks of another participant (egg donor or surrogate mother). Typically, these risks are not covered by either party's insurance.
Brown & Brown's Fertility Insurance ProgramSMinsures the financial risks of complications from a procedure. Accident Insurance provides coverage for any resulting medical expenses not covered by traditional health insurance. In addition, our program includes Short Term & Long Term Disability protection should a participant be unable to work and suffer a loss of income following complications from a procedure. Life insurance is also provided under the program.
In many states, coverage is arranged and purchased by the physician, clinic, or agency on behalf of their patients and clients. In some states, individuals may purchase the coverage directly from Brown & Brown.
